Drummers - Bryce Avary
Bryce Avary (born December 31, 1982) is an American
musician and producer. He is the founder and primary creative force
behind the band The Rocket Summer. He is known for his frequent use of
falsetto and talent as a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. He
defines himself as Christian.
Early life
Bryce was born as Stephen Bryce Avary. He began performing shows as a
teenager in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas. As Avary's fan base grew, he
released his first EP at the age of 16 in limited release during 2000.
At first, he was to release the EP under his own name, when a close
friend of his suggested the name "The Rocket Summer", since it was the
name of a chapter of a story he was reading. After distributing the EP
himself under the name "The Rocket Summer" to local stores to be sold on
consignment, his music appeared on The Adventure Club segment of the
KDGE radio station, and quickly became the most requested local band on
the program that year.
The Rocket Summer
The Rocket Summer eventually became more popular, selling out concerts
across the USA. Avary has so far released two critically and
commercially successful albums titled, "Calendar Days" and "Hello, Good
Friend". "The Early Years EP" was released in November and contains 5
songs originally self-published on the album The Rocket Summer. The
Rocket Summer has signed to Island Records (a major label) for their
third album. As of February this new album has been recorded and mixed.
Personal Life
Avary lives in Dallas/Fort Worth Texas with his wife Tara when he isn't
recording or touring. He is known for his wholesome lifestyle and
Christian beliefs.
